ERTC 15th Annual Meeting, 29 Nov– 1 Dec 2010 - SwissHotel, Istanbul
This year we will host the ERTC Annual Meeting in Istanbul, Turkey. It is the premier event of the year for Europe's oil refining industry with over 600 professionals attending. The conference provides the ideal platform for technology transfer to key people in the industry. Attendees include technical, operational management, process and technical support staff as well as refining management.
We are now accepting abstract sumissions for grading by our esteemed advisory panel for inclusion on the 2010 agenda. You are now invited to submit one or two original papers. Acceptance criteria will be originality and technical innovation.
At this stage, the only requirements are a working title, subject area and brief description of the proposed content (typically a 200 word abstract).
Important notice: Please note that speakers are subject to the usual delegate registration fees.
Preference will be given to papers giving case histories and actual operating experience. We would be pleased to receive abstracts from supply companies that are co-authored with operating companies. We will particularly welcome papers that address the following issues:
Financial crises and ways out
- Effects of the economic crisis on the petroleum products demand
- Changing of motor fuel supply / balance in Europe
- The effects of the crisis on the ongoing refinery investments
- Oil and gas supply and price forecast for Europe
- Cheap projects or no projects, how to save money
- Refinery economics in the downturn
- Maximisation of distillates production and minimisation of gasoline production
Maximisation of the FCC LCO production
- Conversion of (FCC) gasoline into distillates
- Maximum distillates hydrocracking catalysts
Heavy fuel oils
- Expected market evolution in marine fuel oil. What are the expected new (sulfur) specifications?
- New process technologies to remove sulfur from heavy oils
- Heavy oils conversion (Coker, Flexicoker, FCC Residue Cracking, Heavy Oil Hydrocraking)
- SOx (and NOx) scrubbers for heavy oil users (including seegoing ships)
- Developments in heavy oil upgrading
Energy efficiency and novel approaches to recover low temperature heat
- Inter-unit heat integration
- New furnace design/technology and integration of gasturbine with furnace to improve furnace efficiency
Emissions
- UltraLow NOx burners for fuel gas and fuel oil
- DeNOx (and DeNOx) additives for FCC
Plus
- Shift yield slate from gasoline to diesel
- Bottom of the barrel full conversion
- Excess of naphtha in Europe - what can be done?
